On August 11th, LeBron James will be publishing his first children’s book, entitled “I Promise.” Inspired by his foundation by the same name, the book seeks to empower youth to feel like they can achieve any goal they have, and spread positivity to children and their families as well. The book is illustrated by Nina Mata, and will surely be flying off of the (virtual) shelves upon its release.
LeBron’s foundation focuses its resources toward at-risk youth, but by releasing a book, all children can be inspired by his vision of self-positivity. The book teaches children to make promises to themselves to work toward their dreams. As this week’s Latin Babbler Show mentioned, this decision on LeBron’s part continues to show his commitment to service in addition to his incredible history as a basketball player. He is always idolized for his sportsmanship and achievements, but he has used his platform for good, and this new book is no exception. Additionally, LeBron teased a middle school version with a similar mission as well, and this may be a sign of many more releases to come from him and his creative team.
